Meet the Rancher
I grew up in a farming community in the mountains of northern Utah. We always had pigs and many large gardens. I left Utah and farming as soon as I could. About seven years ago I was laid off from a great job that I had for a long time but was ready for something different when given the “opportunity.” For years I had watched the urban farm movement develop and I knew just what I was going to do. Instead of looking for another conventional job, I started volunteering on a small farm. At this time, Love Apple Farm with about a half acre garden but was already doing some amazing things. but it was really just a hobby garden with a few workshops and still a local secret. after about a year at Love Apple, I joined Cynthia as co owner and operator and with the help of hundreds of volunteers, interns, and apprentices Love Apple evolved from a hobby garden with a few workshops and a small tomato sale to the world class school and farm.
